DMRC builds Delhi's highest electric supply towers
The engineers from the Delhi Metro have built three steel towers measuring 53.5 metres in height and one tower of 44.5 metres in East Delhi, making them the highest electric supply towers in Delhi.
The DMRC engineers, working on the Indraprastha Anand Vihar Metro line, successfully lifted the highest electricity overhead transmission lines of 220 KV at Vikas Marg in East Delhi to make way for the elevated Metro.
The overhead supply lines were thus increased by more than 20 metres. The towers are three-fourth in comparison to the height of the Qutub Minar (72.5 metres).
The erection of the new towers was completed without any disruption of electricity supply to the residents of the area.
