Dense fog affects movement of 62 trains

NEW DELHI: Fog hit movement of more than 60 trains today leading to cancellation of operations of 31 trains and delaying other trains.

While Puri Express is running 20 hours late, Guwahati Express is behind the schedule for 18 hours. Purushottam Express and Lichhvai Express are running eight hours late each due to fog on the route.

Neelachal Express, Garib Rath Express and Jan Sadharan Express are among five trains which were rescheduled because of fog.

Loco drivers are being advised to restrict the speed to 20km to 30km during fog.

"We are not taking chances during fog as the safety of passengers is our top priority. We would prefer to run a train late rather than risking passenger's life," a senior Northern Railway official said.
