According to officials, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) intends to employ artificial intelligence in its phase-IV project to improve efficiency in train maintenance and crowd control.

The managing director of DMRC, Vikas Kumar, stated in a PTI interview that the metro has always kept up with technological advancements.

"Driverless metro is a product of the rapid evolution of technology. One stage where you don't need crew or crew scheduling is driverless. "The train can only be started and moved with a single button click," Kumar stated.


Kumar mentioned additional operations like facial recognition and CCTV camera surveillance. He also said that crowd management via cameras and other technologies will undoubtedly be implemented in the future.
