Centre to release funds for third Mumbai metro rail corridor

Urban Development Ministry will soon release funds for the first phase of the third Mumbai metro rail corridor.

NEW DELHI: Urban Development Ministry will soon release funds for the first phase of the third Mumbai metro rail corridor.

The Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ corridor is being party funded by the UD Ministry.

"We will soon release funds for the first phase of the third Metro corridor. We have nominated Central government's nominees on the board of directors. Now the state government has to nominate their members on the board. They also have to appoint a full-time managing director for the third line," Mass Rapid Transit System director Prakash Singh said.

He, however, declined to reveal the amount of the instalment.

The two other metro rail corridors are Versova-Andheri- Ghatkopar and Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd.
