Central Railway, Nagpur division revenue up in April-Dec 11
The Nagpur divison of Central Railway has earned revenues to the tune of Rs 1314.6 crore between April and December 2011.
The division recorded 18.96 metric tonnes loading worth Rs 1073.62 crores between April-December 2011. As many 2.81 crore travellers used services in the division between April and December 2011 to provide a revenue of Rs 211.09 crore, Central Railway, Nagpur Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Dixit, told reporters, yesterday.
Dixit said last year same period 2.67 crore travellers availed the facilities and Rs 193.33 crores was collected. The parcel revenue was to the tune of Rs 10.40 crores during the same period.
Surprise checks were also conducted and the ticket checking staff recovered Rs 5.16 crores from 1,23,189 cases, Dixit said. He said the base kitchen at Nagpur and Ballarshah were being renovated to provide hygienic and high standard and qualilty food to the passengers. About 2000 food packets were being prepared at Ballarshah, Dixit said.
