Bombardier bags contract from DMRC
Canada-based rail equipment major Bombardier Transportation has bagged a $30-million rail signalling equipment contract from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
The new system will ensure predictable and cost-effective operation due to reduced wear and tear. The new signalling system from Bombardier will be installed on lines 5 (Inderlok-Mundka) and 6 (Central Secretariat-Badardpur).
“Through its participation in a number of challenging railway projects in India over the last 35 years, including the traffic management system in Mumbai Western Railway, Bombardier has earned an excellent reputation and is now increasing its presence in the country with new manufacturing plants and engineering sites, gaining a greater understanding of the specific needs of the railway market in India,” Bombardier Transportation India MD Rajeev Jyoti said in the statement.
