Bees shut down Ghitorni Metro station
The Delhi Metro officials have barricaded the entry/exit point of Ghitorni Metro station because of a huge beehive.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro officials have barricaded the entry/exit point of Ghitorni Metro station because of a huge beehive. Commuters who have been avoiding the area, fear that the bees will start another hive on the other gate. Said Santosh Kumar, a commuter and nature lover, "If the hive had been in any other place, I would've allowed it to stay. But the bees can now be seen buzzing on the other side as well. If they make a hive there, it would be a real problem."
Officials from DMRC said they have been trying to get rid of the menace. "The station staff has tried to burn the beehive and even used chemicals. But they keep returning," the official spokesperson said. DMRC admitted that the hive had been in the station for months.
The Metro staff is now planning to destroy the beehive again, hopefully for the final time. "The station in-charge has been asked to get rid of the beehive today, using any means. We are also looking into complaints of the bees trying to start another hive on the other side," the official said.
