India begins work on homemade bullet trains
India has started building its own bullet train, a senior government official told ET. The Indian Railways' Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is where the designs are currently being prepared.

Faster than any train
The bullet train will travel at speeds greater than 250 kmph, the official further told ET. According to the official, it will be quicker than any train currently operating on the Indian Railways. The train designs are being prepared at the Indian Railways' Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.

Routes
The domestically developed Vande Bharat trains are made by ICF. The made-in-India bullet trains will run on the north, south, east corridors that were recently announced. "The new corridors will be using more Indian tech and domestic manufacturing," the official was quoted as saying.
