Allcargo to set up rail terminal in Hyderabad
Allcargo Global will invest in setting up a new rail terminal in Hyderabad as part of the company’s expansion plans in the country.
“For now, we have decided not to undertake any large capex plans, because there is uncertainty in the market.
But we will be setting up a rail terminal in Hyderabad”, Adarsh Hegde, Executive Director at Allcargo Global told ET.
The company has already purchased land for setting up the terminal in Hyderabad according to officials. Rail terminals are used to load and unload containerized cargo from a rail liked Inland Container Depots (ICD).
Allcargo did not divulge details about the cost of the project. This is the first time that the company has embarked on the rail business. It currently operates Container freight stations, Inland container depots and coastal shipping as part of its integrated logistics business.
