10 killed in various rain-related incidents since October 31 in Tamil Nadu : Reports

CHENNAI: A total of 10 persons were killed in various rain-related incidents since October 31, Tamil Nadu government said today.

The victims hailing from Viruthunagar, Dindigul, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Madurai, Nagapattinam and Namakkal districts were killed in various incidents including wall collapse and after being struck by lightning, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said in a statement.

Expressing grief over their deaths, she announced financial compensation of Rs one lakh each to the family of the deceased.
