Wi-fi on board civilian airlines in 10 days from now

NEW DELHI: The Modi government is likely to allow wifi on board of aircrafts flying in and out of India, as the home, telecom and aviation ministries have reached on a consensus on the issue.

"We will soon, within 10 days, be allowed to wifi on board on aircraft flying in and out of the country," said aviation secretary R N Choubey.

He was replying to a question on how soon can the government allow wifi on board in India.

He added that there was a security issue and the ministries of home, telecommunications and aviation ministries have almost achieved consensus on the issue.
