Vistara appoints SpiceJet veteran Solomon Wheeler as VP, marketing

According to his Linkedin profile, Wheeler joined Leo Burnett in December 2000 as account manager. He subsequently joined Cheil Worldwide and then Airtel.

MUMBAI: Vistara, the joint venture carrier between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, has appointed Solomon Wheeler, a former senior executive at SpiceJet, as its vice president, marketing.

Wheeler replaces Kishore Mardikar at the post, said a person in the know said.

Before joining Vistara, Wheeler was the vice president, marketing and communications, at mobile phone maker Lava International between March 2015 and March 2017.

Wheeler joined low fare carrier SpiceJet as a senior brand manager, marketing in June 2009 and worked his way up to be senior general manager, marketing in July 2014. He left the airline in March 2015.

Wheeler is a graduate from the University of Delhi and has management degrees from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
