HYDERABAD: US-based United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a diversified company involved in manufacturing and maintaining (M&M) carrier heating and air conditioning, aerospace systems and aircraft engines among other products on Wednesday said it plans to set up a facility in India.
UTC President and COO Louis Chenevert told reporters here on Wednesday, that India is an important market for UTC with major opportunities and its international revenues of 61 per cent of the $42.7 billion encourage the corporation to expand its wings.
However, Chenevert has not specified time and investment for the establishment of the unit.
Commemorating UTC's five year partnership with Infotech Enterprises, Chenevert said UTC's partnership with Infotech has grown to USD 100 million over the past five years.
He said in India, UTC is present with a well-diversified product portfolio across all its products. Its clientele includes Air India, Kingfisher Airlines and some MNCs, while it employees 3,000 people and has been involved in several high profile projects in the country.
Infotech is the provider of geospatial and engineering design services to the utilities, telecom, transportation and manufacturing industries and earned $82 million revenues last year.
