The ramping up of facilities at the Delhi airport had improved immigration facilities and reduced the bunching of flights, Union home secretary Ajay Bhalla was informed on Monday during a review of the infrastructure at Delhi Airport with various stakeholders. Bhalla had first held a meeting with the stakeholders on December 15, 2022, after several complaints of delay and long queues at the domestic and international airports in Delhi.

"Union home secretary Bhalla on Monday held a high-level meeting with major stakeholders to review the streamlining of infrastructure at Delhi airport. Officials from the ministry of Civil Aviation, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Delhi Police, DIAL-GMR and other security agencies attended the meeting," noted a ministry statement.

"Baggage scanners have been increased by doubling its capacity in the domestic bay. The immigration counter area has been de-cluttered. Delhi Police has increased deployment for the traffic lane management," read the statement.
