Union Cabinet okays revised Civil Aviation Authority bill
As ET had reported on February 5, the revised CAA bill will give the regulator powers to appoint technical officers without prior clearance.
"The bill will be tabled in parliament next week," the official said in an SMS reply. The standing Committee on transport, tourism and culture had recently tabled a report on the Bill, saying the Bill was not very different from the current law governing DGCA and had recommended a series of steps to strengthen it. As ET had reported on February 5, the revised CAA bill will give the regulator powers to appoint technical officers without prior clearance.
