Unclaimed baggages create flutter at city airports

CHENNAI: Unclaimed baggages at the city airports kept the security officials on tenterhooks for about eight hours in the morning.

Airport sources said a suitcase was found at the arrival area of the international airport at two am. Bureau of Civil Aviation officials examined the suitcase and confiscated it, airport sources said.

Another suitcase was found outside the arrival area of the international terminal while a cardboard box which reportedly contained vegetables was found inside the departure area, the sources said.

The domestic terminal also witnessed some anxious moments as a handbag was found lying outside the administrative office of the terminal.

The officials searched and confiscated all the bags and the cardboard box, sources added.
