Turkish Airlines A330 aircraft moved from runway of Mumbai International Airport
After three days of disrupting air
traffic, The Turkish Airlines A330 aircraft has been removed from near the
taxiway and normal operations resumed.
“Turkish Aircraft has been shifted to Air India hangar at 6.45 am (Monday) and main runway (09-27) has been handed over to the air traffic control for operations,” said a morning update from Mumbai International Airport.
The main runway was forced shut for operations on Friday last week when this aircraft skidded off the taxiway N8 and got stuck in the mud. Because of the proximity to the main runway, the operations on this strip were closed.
No injuries were reported for 104 passengers and 11 crewmembers. The Indian civil aviation regulator has ordered a probe into the incident. The pilots and crew of the airline are asked not to leave the country for investigation purposes.
Air India Kolkata flight was the first to depart from Mumbai today, the airport spokesperson said. SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad arrived in the morning. There are no reported delays in departures till the last update from the airport.
