Thai AirAsia to launch 1st Kochi-Bangkok flight from May 17

Thai AirAsia, part of Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia, will connect Kochi with Bangkok with a daily direct flight, commencing in May, the airline today said.

KOCHI: AirAsia is introducing daily flights from Kochi to Bangkok from May 17. The airline has also announced a promotional one way fare of Rs 2999.

The promotional fare is available till March 27, for travel from May 17 to May 22. AirAsia is also operating direct flights to Bangkok from Chennai and Bangalore.

A total of 1,069,149 Indians travelled to Thailand in 2015, making Indians the 6th largest group of travellers to the country. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO, Thai AirAsia said that India is an important market for the airline.

AirAsia is the first airline to introduce direct flights from Kochi to Bangkok. A total of 104,393 Thai visitors travelled to India in 2014, which shows an increase of 11% over the previous year.
