SpiceJet to add two more weekly flights on Ahmedabad-Muscat route

SpiceJet added two flights in the Ahmedabad-Muscat sector, showing gradual signs of turnaround in the airline that had cancelled more than 2,000 flights late last year.

MUMBAI: SpiceJet Thursday added two flights in the Ahmedabad-Muscat sector, showing gradual signs of turnaround in the airline that had cancelled more than 2,000 flights late last year.

The additional flights are effective from May 13th 2015. The flights "are now open for booking at a promotional offer fare of Rs 5499/- all-inclusive for Ahmedabad-Muscat,"the airline said in a statement.

"India and Oman have an excellent partnership, and the passenger demand between these countries has been growing strongly,"said Sanjiv Kapoor, chief operating officer at the airline.

"These additional frequencies are a part of our plans to increase our international services, and we expect to add more flights and frequencies to current and potential new international destinations in the coming months as we add more aircraft”, he added.

Muscat is one of seven international destinations currently served by SpiceJet, the others being Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai, Kabul, Kathmandu, and Male ( Maldives).
