SpiceJet takes delivery of first wet leased Airbus A319 plane

ET had reported on June 11, SpiceJet would induct airliners from the A320 family. A wet lease entails no costs on crew or maintenance.

MUMBAI: Budget carrier SpiceJet has taken delivery of its first wet leased Airbus A319 plane, bringing in the third kind of plane into its fleet.

The carrier has leased it from CSA Czech Airline and will lease one more soon. The lease period is 90 days.

ET had reported on June 11, SpiceJet would induct airliners from the A320 family. A wet lease entails no costs on crew or maintenance.

SpiceJet currently has 20 operational Boeing 737 planes and 14 Bombardier Q400s in its fleet. It recently said it wants to expand to 50 planes by March.
