SpiceJet starts Hajj operations with Srinagar to Medina flight

SpiceJet won the bid to operate 102 special flights, catering to over 13,800 pilgrims from Guwahati, Gaya, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada. The airline has leased an Airbus A340 on short term aircraft for the services

Low cost airline SpiceJet said that it has started its Hajj operations with the inaugural flights departing from Srinagar to Medina, marking the beginning of this year’s holy pilgrimage. These special flights for Hajj were carried out on two wide-body A340 aircraft, each having a seating capacity of 324 people.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation coordinates with the Hajj Division of the Ministry of Minority Affairs for operations of flights for Haj pilgrims from 21 embarkation points in India to Jeddah.
