The aircraft will be inducted under a damp lease arrangement, where flight operations are jointly handled by the lessor and the airline.
The induction is timed ahead of the winter travel season and is aimed at meeting higher passenger demand through the early summer of 2026.
The airlines' shares were trading at Rs 38.27, down 2.4% on the BSE as of Friday 2.05 PM.
The low-cost carrier also said that it is in active talks with other lessors for additional aircraft to further increase capacity.
"This addition will significantly strengthen our fleet and enable us to deliver a superior flying experience to our passengers. We are actively exploring further fleet additions as we prepare for a robust winter schedule,” said Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet.
The planned expansion is part of the airline’s broader strategy to scale up operations both in domestic and international markets, SpiceJet said.
