Last Tuesday, the airline announced fares as low as Rs 1,010 for three days starting May 19 for travel between July and mid-October. It is not applicable for the dates July 16 to 20 and October 1 to 5.
On Wednesday it said it has registered a rise of 400% in booking volume on the first day of the fare sale as compared to a normal day.
“This promo has seen the highest demand from two preferred holiday destinations—Srinagar and Goa. New Delhi-Srinagar and Mumbai-Goa are among the sectors that seen maximum demand under this offer. Other top routes were like Kolkata-New Delhi and Mumbai-New Delhi. From South India, Bengaluru-New Delhi route was in demand,” said a release from the airline.
SpiceJet started flying on May 23, 2005 with a Delhi-Ahmedabad flight. It was bought by the Kansagra brothers and Ajay Singh among others from SK Modi of the Modi Group of Industries.
