SpiceJet CEO says eyeing break-even by FY'10

Budget air carrier SpiceJet is eyeing break-even in FY'10, a top company official said.

MUMBAI: Budget air carrier SpiceJet is eyeing break-even in FY'10, a top company official said.

"2009-10 could be the break-even year for us," SpiceJet's CEO Sanjay Agarwal told reporters here today.

The air carrier has added 20 per cent capacity during October 2008-January 2009 period with 19 aircraft, Agarwal said.

On the aviation industry, he said that it could witness a consolidation over the next 12-24-month period.

"We (the aviation industry) could see a consolidation in the next 12-24-months," he said.

Asked whether SpiceJet was contemplating acquisitions, he said if a right opportunity presented itself, then it would be a buyer in the low-cost carrier segment.
