SpiceJet case: Petitioner gets time for rejoinder

Aircastle (Ireland) had filed a petition against Spicejet under section 9 of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code 2016 on April 28, based on which the court issued a notice to SpiceJet on May 8.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Tuesday granted time to aircraft leasing company Aircastle (Ireland) Limited, which has filed an insolvency petition against Spicejet Limited, to file a rejoinder and listed the matter for July 17.

Aircastle (Ireland) had filed a petition against Spicejet under section 9 of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code 2016 on April 28, based on which the court issued a notice to the airline on May 8.

The petitioner also sought time from the special bench of the NCLT to reply to the interlocutory appeal filed by Spicejet on June 5.


Willis Lease Finance Corporation, another aircraft leasing company, had filed a separate section 9 petition against Spicejet, listed on June 8.
