Spat on board Istanbul-Delhi flight: Jet CEO Sanjiv Kapoor backs IndiGo air hostess seen clashing with flyer

Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor today reacted to the reported spat between an IndiGo stewardess and a flyer, a video of which has been doing the rounds.

The video shows the air hostess arguing with a flyer on-board a plane. She is seen telling him that she is an employee of the airline and not his servant.

In a tweet, Kapoor backed the air hostess. He cited instances of flight crews being abused, and even slapped.


A lot must have happened before the air hostess reached a breaking point, Kapoor said.

“As I had said earlier, crew are human too. It must have taken a lot to get her to breaking point. Over the years I have seen crew slapped and abused on board flights, called "servant" and worse. Hope she is fine despite the pressure she must be under,” he tweeted.
The video that captured the incident was from an Istanbul-Delhi Indigo flight. It shows the air hostess telling the flyer, who can't be seen clearly in the footage, that she is "an employee of the airline and not his servant."

The spat reportedly started over meals supplied on board. The air hostess is seen telling the flyer several times not to shout at her. The bickering ended with each telling the other to shut up.

IndiGo, meanwhile, has responded to the video saying that it is aware of the matter and is looking into it.
