Singapore Airlines today said it will operate an additional flight from Mumbai for Singapore to cater to the high demand on Diwali.

MUMBAI: Singapore Airlines today said it will operate an additional flight from Mumbai for Singapore to cater to the high demand on Diwali.

The airline will deploy a Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft for this additional flight, which will depart from Mumbai on October 25, Singapore Airlines said in a statement.

The South-east Asian carrier, which is the first airline to operate jumbo A380 to India, currently offers two daily flights to the city.

These flights are serviced by a combination of the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft.

This additional flight will, however, return as non- commercial flight on November 2, the statement said.

Singapore Airlines, which has also formed a 49:51 joint venture with Tata Group to launch a full service carrier in the domestic market, became the first carrier to roll out commercial flights of the world's largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380 in India in May this year.
