Security agency suspends license of IndiGo's training centre

"We are already in contact with the BCAS and are confident of demonstrating sufficient compliance to the satisfaction of the BCAS," said an IndiGo spokesman.

MUMBAI: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has suspended the license of IndiGo's aviation security training centre for allegedly fudging and leaking question papers during security training tests to its cabin crew.

As a result of these practices the entire crew scored more than 90 per cent marks, said Rajesh Kumar, director general, BCAS.

He added that "illegal practices" had been on since 7-8 months.

According to rules, airlines have to impart training to its crew under a module approved by the BCAS.

"We are already in contact with the BCAS and are confident of demonstrating sufficient compliance to the satisfaction of the BCAS," said an IndiGo spokesman.

"We would like to clarify that this discussion only pertains to the aviation security training. All other trainings are continuing, as scheduled, and there has been no change in our operations as reported by a section of the media," he added.
