The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed SpiceJet's appeal against the Delhi Court's order to deposit Rs 144 crore and directed the Indian airline to pay Rs 1 lakh to the advocate association.

The apex court noted that even though a larger amount is further due and payable as per the orders, for the time being, the petitioners/judgment debtors are directed to deposit the amount of Rs 1 lakh only. The court added that there is no end to litigation.

Amit Sibal, appearing for SpiceJet, argued that the airline has fully complied.

"SpiceJet is examining the order and will comply with all court directions. SpiceJet would like to assure all stakeholders that this development has no impact on its day-to-day operations. SpiceJet remains confident of receiving a potential refund of Rs 449 crore on the culmination of this legal process," said the airline in a statement.
