Russia to deliver frigate by early next year
India will finally get the first of its three additional stealth frigates being built in Russia by early-2012 , followed by aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya or the refurbished Admiral Gorshkov in early-2013 .

NEW DELHI: India will finally get the first of its three additional stealth frigates being built in Russia by early-2012 , followed by aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya or the refurbished Admiral Gorshkov in early-2013 .
This comes after Navy chief Admiral Nirmal Verma’s visit to Russia last week.
“Admiral Verma observed that the two projects, the frigate one at Yantar shipyard and the carrier one at Sevmash, had reached critical stages of maturity” , said an official.
The first frigate, the 4,900-tonne INS Teg, should be commissioned around next February , with the other two INS Tarkash and INS Trikhand following after gaps of six months each.
