P&W assures more aircraft engines for India
Pratt & Whitney has ensured the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) they would offer large percentage of their engines to Indian carriers to address the issue of planes being grounded.
"They have assured us that they will provide about 40% of their engineers new made to Indian carriers. We wanted them to do that because a large number of aircraft are grounded due to want of engines," said a senior DGCA official, who did not want to be identified.
He added that the engine delivery will expedite from last week of September.
About 10 Airbus 320 (neo) - 8 of IndiGo and 2 of GoAir - are grounded in India.
