NAGPUR: Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar will inaugurate the new terminal building of the Dr Ambedkar International Airport and unveil a statue of the late Dalit leader here on April 14.

The inauguration and unveiling of the statue coincides with Ambedkar's birth anniversary.

Pawar is arriving in Vidarbha for first time after the UPA Government announced a Rs 60,000-crore loan waiver for farmers in February.

The region in Eastern Maharashtra has witnessed a large number of farmer suicides in the past few years.

He will arrive here from Gondia by a private aircraft in the morning and open Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan's Bahgwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir at Ashti Borgaon near here.

After attending the airport function, Pawar will address a NCP workers' convention at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall later in the afternoon.
