The Centre on Thursday asked state governments to review and rationalise their taxation policy on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and land acquisition practices to encourage domestic civil aviation sector.

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday asked state governments to review and rationalise their taxation policy on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and land acquisition practices to encourage domestic civil aviation sector.

“If the taxes, particularly state sales tax, were rationalised, then it would encourage more airlines to fly into a state,” civil aviation minister Praful Patel said at the first national civil aviation conference involving states and union territories.
