North India flight disruptions: Govt releases helpline numbers to contact airlines as passengers face delays

"Due to fog today on 29.12.2025 visibility levels in Northern India has reduced at select airports potentially impacting flight schedules, including delays. Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines through official communication channels for the latest flight updates and to plan their travel accordingly by allowing additional time for airport arrival and check-in procedures," said the statement.

"AAI has activated passenger facilitation measures and deployed assistance teams at affected airports to support travellers on the ground. We remain committed to ensuring passenger safety, convenience, and smooth airport operations during adverse weather conditions," the statement read.

Airlines issue travel advisory:
Amid dense fog reducing visibility in the national capital, IndiGo said, "Delhi and Hindon (Airport) continue to remain wrapped in chilly winter air and lingering fog this morning. The fluctuating visibility has led to changes in flight schedules, and operations may be slower than usual as conditions evolve. Our teams on-ground are prioritising safety and compliance with visibility requirements. Once the weather settles, operations will gradually stabilise, and flights will depart as planned. Thank you for your patience and understanding. In addition, our ‘FogCare’ initiative allows passengers booked on certain flights that are likely to be affected during the fog window to receive advance alerts on their registered phone numbers, with the option to change their flights without any extra payment or seek a full refund on their bookings without any penalty," said Tata-owned Air India in its travel advisory.
