Noida Airport Launch: With the first flight set to take off on April 17, what makes this a vital deadline?
Noida International Airport will begin domestic and international commercial flights on April 17 next year, following a discussion led by NIAL. Originally scheduled to open in September, it is crucial to meet this deadline to avoid potential delay...
At the meeting, Yamuna International Airport Ltd (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Swiss company Zurich AG, presented a detailed timeline highlighting key clearances needed for the airport’s launch.
NIAL CEO Arun Vir Singh stated, "The concessionaire has submitted a plan to start commercial operations by April 17. But we will try to bring the launch date forward. The timeline is crucial because any deviation from the April 17 deadline could result in a further six-month delay.”
Initially, the airport — the second in the Delhi-NCR region — was slated to open by the end of September this year, with plans for up to 65 daily flights: 62 on domestic routes, two for international destinations and a cargo flight.
