NOC not required for DIAL's aerocity project, says Civil Aviation Minister
Ajit Singh also said the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security set up a committee to examine the security aspects of the project.
In reply to a written question that whether IGI airport operator -- Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has got no objection certificate (NOC) from Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Singh said, "Airport operator DIAL didn't obtain any NOC from BCAS. There is no such requirement as on date, to obtain the NOC from BCAS."
He also said that BCAS had set up a committee to examine the security aspects of the aerocity project by DIAL and it has submitted its report.
"The committee has recommended several mitigation measures for improving security and the same have already been taken care of. The aerocity project falls well outside the operational area of the airport," he said in Lok Sabha, adding the construction work of the project was being undertaken according to plans duly approved by the appropriate authority.
