No technical snag on Hyderabad-Hubballi flight, diversion to Bangalore due to bad weather, says FLY91

Regional airline FLY91 on Monday said its flight IC3401 from Hyderabad to Hubballi did not face any technical issue, countering media reports that suggested otherwise.

“The flight IC3401 flying from Hyderabad to Hubballi did not develop any technical snag as is being reported in some sections of the media,” the airline said in a statement.

The flight departed Hyderabad at 1500 hours on Sunday (April 19, 2026) and, on nearing Hubballi, encountered adverse weather conditions. “On nearing Hubballi, the flight encountered bad weather due to which the flight was diverted to Bengaluru as per standard protocol,” it said.

The aircraft was later routed back to Hubballi and subsequently returned to its base in Hyderabad. The airline stressed that safety was never at risk during the operation.

“There was zero compromise to safety. Holding the aircraft over Hubballi and diverting to Bengaluru was part of the standard operating procedure. This is among the best practices adopted by the industry,” the statement said.

FLY91 added that its crew is trained to handle such situations and highlighted its safety record. “FLY91 has a highly skilled team of pilots, cabin crew and ground staff which are trained to manage any situation which may come up. The regional airline has an impeccable safety record.”

Rejecting reports of a technical fault, the airline said: “Information in some news reports pointing to a technical issue faced by the aircraft is false and baseless.”
