New fuelling facility at Mumbai airport
Mumbai International Airport has signed an agreement with three public sector oil companies to set up an aviation fuelling facility at the airport.
“The move is aimed at creating efficiency,” said MIAL spokesperson Manish Kalghatgi. “The storage facility will free up more than 50% of the 74,000 sq ft held by the oil companies at the airport.”
MIAL and three oil marketing companies namely BPCL, HPCL and IOC will form a new entity — Mumbai Aviation Fuel Farm Facility Private — to bring the scattered oil fuelling and storage stations at the airport under one umbrella. — Our Bureau
MIAL and the oil companies will own 25% stake each in the company. The shareholders will split profit equally among themselves, said an official of one of the oil companies who did not wish to be named.
Mumbai Aviation Fuel Farm Facility Private will be operational up to the next 56 years. MIAL’s tenure is valid till 2036 and it is likely to be extended by another 30 years.
