MUMBAI: The dedicated bankruptcy court has asked the only potential suitor for Jet Airways, Synergy Group, to appear before the bench to show its seriousness and bonafides to revive the grounded carrier.

On Monday, the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) directed the resolution professional (RP) to communicate with the South American firm Synergy Group to appear before the bench. The tribunal has also made the ministry of civil aviation and DGCA party to the case and sought their response regarding the availability of the slots to fly between destinations.

“Synergy Group, which owns several airlines in South America is conducting its due diligence and they are the only serious bidder, they are constantly in touch with us and seeking more time to evaluate their options,” said Ashish Chhawchharia, RP of Jet Airways.
