Amid heavy rains in Mumbai, the IndiGo airline announced on Friday that it has held some flights momentarily, requesting customers to keep an eye on flight status.

In a travel advisory, the airline said that heavy rain is impacting flight schedules in Mumbai.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued the latest Extended Range Forecast predicting renewed rainfall in central and northwest India between September 25 and October 1. The weather agency said that the mentioned areas will be wetter than usual during what is typically the final phase of the monsoon season.

Assuring its passengers, IndiGo said, "...our teams are working round the clock, ready to get you airborne as soon as it’s safe."

"We request you to keep an eye on your flight status and leave early as the roads are moving slower than usual," it added.
