Mumbai: The Airline Operators Committee (AOC), representing airlines operating from Mumbai airport, has questioned whether the civil aviation ministry approved the decision of Adani Group-controlled Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) not to allocate slots to 12 international carriers for the summer 2027 season.

In a letter to the ministry on Friday, the AOC sought clarity on whether MIAL received approval to deny the carriers their requested slots and temporarily move their operations out of Mumbai's Terminal 2.

The 12 airlines, which operate around 16 daily departures to 14 destinations, have not been allocated slots at Mumbai airport from the end of March 2027. They may have to shift the affected services to Navi Mumbai International Airport, as MIAL prepares to redevelop Terminal 1. Adani Airport Holdings controls both airports.
