MEHAIR's Nashik-Pune air service to start from June 15

NASHIK: Maritime Energy Heli Air Services (MEHAIR) will launch air service to Pune from newly-developed Ojhar airport near here from June 15, a top executive has said.

"Our 9-seater plane will take off from Ojhar airstrip, located about 21 kms from here, at 7.45 am and will land at Pune's Lohagaon airport at 8.30 am in 45 minutes. Similarly, it will take off from Pune at 9 am and land at Ojhar at 9.45 am," MEHAIR Managing Director Siddharth Verma said.

He said the air fare and other facilities will be decided in a couple of days after holding meetings with office-bearers of the Travel Agents Association of Nashik (TAAN).

MEHAIR had recently conducted a trial of its sea-plane from Mumbai to Gangapur dam in Nashik.

"The maiden air service being launched between Nashik and Pune is time-saving as it takes six hours to reach Pune by road. Especially, businessmen and industrialists could afford this air service," TAAN president Datta Bhalerao said.
