Less taxiing time when new terminal is ready in Delhi: Patel

NEWDELHI: The time taken by an aircraft to taxi from runway to terminal at Delhiairport will be considerably reduced once the new terminal is operationalised inApril 2010, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel informed the Rajya Sabhatoday.

Replying to questions, Patel said air traffic congestion atDelhi airport will come down once operation of domestic and internationalflights shifts to the new terminal from April 2010.

Theoperationalising of the new terminal would also cut down the long distance anaircraft has to travel from the new runway to the old terminals, hesaid.

Patel said operation at Lokpriya Gopinath BordoloiInternational Airport, Borjhar at Guwahati is maintained as per standards laiddown by International Civil Aviation Organisation and licensed by DirectorateGeneral of Civil Aviation.

The airport has all facilities includingcustoms and immigration for operating international flights but it is up to theairlines whether they fly from Guwahati airport or not, he said.

TheMinister said Bagdogra airport upgradation and expansion is awaitingavailability of land from the Indian Air Force and talks are on with Ministry ofDefence.

To a separate question, Patel said night landing facilitiesare already available at Dibrugarh and Silchar Airports in the north easternregion.

July 21 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank AG fired two top executives after conducting an internal probeinto whether the bank carried out surveillance on managers and a shareholder,the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with thematter.

A Deutsche Bank spokeswoman in Hong Kong declined to commenton the report when contacted by Reuters.

Deutsche Bank stands accusedof spying on a small group of managers and a critical shareholder, sourcesfamiliar with the internal probe told Reuters on Monday.

GeraldHerrmann, a former supervisory board member, Michael Bohndorf, a criticalactivist shareholder, German media mogul Leo Kirch and Hermann-Josef Lamberti,the bank's chief operating officer, were targets of the surveillance, the WallStreet Journal added.

The Frankfurt prosecutor's office said onMonday that it was examining whether to launch a criminal investigation ofpossible breaches of data security at the bank.
