DUBAI: Kuwait Airways has said that its flight from Kuwait to Mumbai made an emergency landing at the Kuwait Airport following a bird crashing into the plane's cockpit.

The flight KU301 returned to the airport and passengers were switched to an alternative aircraft to resume their flight earlier last week, Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, reported.

Birds crashing into planes usually pose an element of danger, with some recorded yet rare incidents where such accidents had resulted in fatalities.

However, 65 per cent of bird strikes cause just superficial damage to the plane, the report said.
