Kerala MP asks for restoration of Air India Express flights to Gulf

MP Achuthan brought out the difficulties faced by Keralities going to Gulf region due to non-availability of flights.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rajya Sabha member from Kerala M P Achuthan (CPI) today asked the Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh to take steps to restore the Air India Express, the budget airline, flights to Gulf sector from Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

Achuthan, in a letter to Union Minister brought out the difficulties faced by Keralities going to Gulf region due to nonavailbaility of flights.

Achuthan said the private airlines have hiked the fare charges in the wake of cancellation of Air India Express flights.

The Air India had cancelled six scheduled flights to Gulf sector from Thiruvananthapuram and four from Kozhikode, he said.
