KATA wants Air India Express HQ to be in the city
Kerala Association of Travel Agents (KATA) has asked the Air India authorities to set up the Air India Express head office in the city.
The Association asked MP's from the state to put pressure on Centre to have the Air India Express Headquarters in the city.
Talking to reporters here yesterday, Association President K V Muralidharan said Thiruvananthapuram was the best second place to set up the Air India Express headoffice after Mumbai.
The new international airport constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore was one of the best in the country. Flights could be operated from the airport in all adverse climate conditions, he said.
Association also wanted Air India to restore all the flights which it withdrew recently from Thiruvananthapuram.
There was no justification to impose users fee of Rs 755 per passenger in the Airport, he said to a question.
