NEW DELHI: Employees of leading general sales agent for foreign airlines Jetair Pvt Ltd have threatened to go on strike on Thursday, an action which is likely to affect ground handling services of some international airlines.
The workers of the Naresh Goyal-promoted company have been demanding framing of a bilateral promotion policy and had raised the issue before the Conciliation Officer, Maharashtra Government.
The employees union had served a notice to the management on September 21, 2006, stating that they would go on strike from October 5, 2006.
Jetair has, however, declared the proposed strike illegal and warned of stern action against any employee who takes part in it.
"The management has advised the Employees' Union not to resort to any agitation and warned that the management will take stern action against their participation in any illegal and unjustified strike," a company said in a statement from Mumbai.
