Jet files petition against Sahara

Jet Airways on Friday said it had filed a petition before the Bombay High Court against Air Sahara seeking certain interim reliefs.

NEW DELHI: Jet Airways on Friday said it had filed a petition before the Bombay High Court against Air Sahara seeking certain interim reliefs.

The airlines informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the petition had been filed under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 against Sahara India Commercial Corporation Ltd (SICCL) and other selling shareholders (which were mentioned in the shareholder purchase agreement of January 18, 2006).

SICCL had also filed a similar petition against the company and ICICI Bank Ltd under the same Act before the District Judge's Court, Lucknow, it added.

The matter is scheduled for further hearing on Friday, it said.
