MUMBAI: Leading private carrier Jet Airways has invested $30 million to buy two simulators for training its pilots.
"Each simulator would help the company in saving USD 10 million each year," Jet CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer told reporters here on Wednesday.
In the absence of a simulator the airline would have to send its pilots abroad, which cost about $ 1,000 per hour, Prock-Schauer said.
But now its cost would go down to $500, he added. Jet has a pilot strength of 850. The two simulators are Airbus and Boeing. Jet has a mix of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
