Jet Airways plane makes emergency landing in Muscat after a mid-air bomb threat

The alleged bomb threat to Jet Airways plane comes two days after a Turkish Airlines plane to Istanbul from Bangkok landed at IGI Airport here under emergency conditions following a bomb scare.

MUMBAI: A Jet Airways Mumbai-Dubai flight had to be diverted to Muscat Thursday due to a bomb threat.

The flight 9W 536, with 54 passengers and 7 crew on board landed at Muscat at 1.20 pm local time (2:50 pm IST).

"All guests and crew disembarked without any incident and were taken to the airport terminal. The Omani security agencies are carrying out a search of the aircraft, baggage and cargo at present. Guests are being looked after and have been provided refreshments," said a Jet Airways spokesman.

On Tuesday, a Turkish Airlines flight TK 65 flying between Bangkok and Istanbul made an emergency land at Delhi airport due to a bomb threat on board. No bomb was however found in the plane and it departed subsequently.
